BREAST IMPLANT (BREAST ENLARGEMENT)

Free Consultation

Breast implant, otherwise known as breast enlargement or augmentation, has become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in Turkey and in the world. This is one of the timeless surgical procedures that use saline, silicone or cohesive gel implants in some cases, fat transfer in order to restore the size, fullness and shape of a woman’s breasts.

Several surgical techniques can be used by the surgeon:

    • Placement of breast implants: implantation of silicone breast prostheses
    • Breast lipofilling: injection of fat from the patient’s liposuction
    • Composite breast implant: placement of breast prostheses with injection of fat around the implants

    How is breast implant performed?

The procedure of a breast implant varies depending on the type of technique used even if the operation is performed under general anaesthesia, and generally as part of an outpatient hospitalization. The patient usually can go home in the evening.

The placement of breast implants remains the most frequently preferred method by the surgeon and the patients. It simply consists of inserting two prostheses under or on the mammary gland. For its part, breast lipofilling involves two distinct surgical procedures (liposuction and injection of fat), against three for composite breast implant (liposuction, injection of fat into the breasts and placement of implants).

When Can You Consider Breast Implant?

      • If you want a better proportioned or more attractive shape
      • If you want the clothes to fit better
      • In cases where pregnancy, weight loss or aging affect the size and shape of your breasts
      • If one of your breasts is smaller than the other, and you realize symmetry

    BREAST LIFT

Breast Lift, also known as Mastopexy, is defined as a cosmetic surgery operation which aims to lift the breasts. We know that over time, the breasts tend to sag. Many other factors can cause this breast sagging. Beyond a simple aesthetic correction, breast lift often has psychological dimensions. The operation effectively allows the woman to regain her femininity, to come to terms with her previously degraded image and to regain self-esteem. In fact, many consider breast lift to be an operation for happiness.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding, significant weight loss, breast asymmetry (difference in shape and / or volume) or even breast enlargement (too much breast size) are among the recurring causes of this alteration of the shape of the breast. There is also breast ptosis, an anatomical peculiarity giving the appearance of empty and sagging breasts.

The procedure varies depending on several parameters, including the size of the breasts and the extent of the corrections to be made. The surgeon generally uses the round block technique (incision around the areola) for mild ptosis, a vertical incision if the ptosis is not too advanced, or the inverted T technique for severe ptosis.

Essential, the first consultation allows the surgeon to perform a complete clinical examination. During the meeting, he will explain the details of the procedure to you such as choice of technique, its advantages, disadvantages and limitations, the result. In the event of a mastopexy with an implant, the surgeon will show you the prosthesis and will choose the appropriate volume with you.

    During a mastopexy

Depending on the procedure to be performed, mastopexy requires 12 to 24 hours of hospitalization. The surgery which usually lasts between 1 hour 30 and 2 hours 30 is performed under general anesthesia. If the breast ptosis is really mild, the mastopexy can very well be done on an outpatient basis.

    With or without an implant?

This procedure involves removing the excess skin to shape the breasts and allow for ascent. This is then a breast lift without an implant. In the event of insufficient volume, mastopexy may be associated with the placement of breast prostheses.

    BREAST LIFT AND IMPLANT

Patients who might benefit from additional volume in the neckline or who wish to increase the size of their breasts at the same time as the facelift, may consider a breast lift with implants or with lipofilling.

Also called “augmentation-mastopexy,” this cosmetic surgery removes excess skin and breast tissue to remove sagging and eventually resize the nipples, as well as the areolas.

A fuller shape, better firmness and an increase in breast volume are obtained.

Each of the techniques for increasing breast volume has its advantages and disadvantages.

The main advantage of the prosthesis is that it can increase the volume in a completely controlled and almost unlimited manner.

The main advantage of lipofilling is its very natural side. It can also be of benefit to the patient if, at the same time, she wishes to get rid of an area with excess (stomach, love handles, thighs, etc.).

The procedure usually lasts two to three hours. The postoperative period is relatively similar to that of a classic mastopexy. In case of lipofilling, the collection site will also require the wearing of a compression sleeve for 4 to 6 weeks.

The choice of the type and size of breast implants is an important decision for the look and feel after implant placement.
