FACE LIFT
As we age, the skin of the face loses its elasticity and tone. It sags and the wrinkles on your face gradually deepen. Sagging skin occurs when the structures that support it lose their volume and strength with age. Weight loss can also cause this sagging skin on your face, regardless of your age. Many people feel frustrated or embarrassed by these changes happening on their face.
Face lift surgery can make you look youthful and healthy by reducing sagging skin and wrinkles. This is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin from the face to make it look younger and tightens the sagging skin around the lower half of the face (mainly the jowls) and neck. It is usually performed under sedation. It can sometimes be performed under simple local anesthesia.
The procedure involves lifting and repositioning the skin and the underlying soft tissues that support your face, in order to make it firmer, smoother, and to restore lost volumes. The end goal is to achieve a natural result, with minimal risk and a quick recovery time.
A face lift tends to work best when your skin still has some elasticity and your bone structure is good and well defined. Therefore, an age between 40 and 60 years old is the best range to get the maximum benefit from such an intervention. However, depending on the individual case, it can be performed at any age.
Depending on the area to be treated, there are three types of facelift:
Brow or brow lift, middle third facelift, and neck lift. They are intended to restore the natural contours of the face by putting back sagging tissue. These interventions help smooth out any disharmony and rejuvenate the face.
What are the expected results?
- The results can be immediately visible but the final appearance is revealed after about 2 or 3 months.
- excess skin is reduced
- the volumes are restored and repositioned in their natural position
- the skin is smoother
- the contours of the face are better defined
EYELID SURGERY (UPPER AND LOWER)
Eyelid Surgery, also known as Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that removes fatty deposits, excess tissue, or muscle from the eyelids to improve the appearance of the eyes.
It is mainly used to improve the aesthetic appearance of the eyes. In some older people, however, the sagging and excess skin around the eyes can be so severe that they limit the range of vision. In these cases, the blepharoplasty serves a more functional purpose, and in some cases may even be covered by your insurance. However, this should be the subject of a specific request, and your surgeon will take care of it for you.
An eyelid surgery can treat :
- Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disrupts the natural contour of the upper eyelid, making it look tired and sometimes impairing vision
- Fat deposits that appear as bags around the eyes
- Bags under the eyes
- Drooping lower eyelids revealing white under the iris
- Excess skin and fine wrinkles around the lower eyelid
Good candidates for eyelid surgery include:
- Healthy people without severe medical conditions that could interfere with healing
- People who want their eye area to improve and look more rested.
- People without serious eye problems
What are the expected results?
Many patients are satisfied with the results of the eyelid surgery, such as a more rested and youthful appearance and increased self-confidence. For some people, the results of surgery can last a lifetime. For others, the eyelids may droop after a few years. It is then possible to repeat the surgery a second time.
The bruises (bruises) and swelling usually go away after 10 to 14 days. The scars will remain slightly visible for 3-4 months before becoming almost imperceptible. During these few months, they are very easily hidden with a little makeup if necessary. Take care to protect your scars from too much exposure to the sun.
NECK LIFT
The neck is one of the first areas where you can see the early signs of aging. The relaxation of the skin and the underlying muscles of the neck, results in a withered appearance, with the appearance of vertical bands, a double chin, a lack of definition of the mandibular line and a loss of harmony of the oval face.
A neck lift, also called platysmaplasty, is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the neck by reducing excess skin and fatty tissue by tightening the skin and muscles of the neck that have lost elasticity due to aging. It gives you a more youthful appearance. Besides that, this procedure can also help restore balance to your facial structure by allowing you to better define your jawline.
It is often performed in conjunction with neck liposuction, face lift, or cheek lift, but it can also be done independently.
How is the intervention going?
Neck lift surgery usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. During the procedure, the surgeon makes small incisions behind your ears and under your chin.
The surgeon can use dissolvable or non-dissolvable stitches to close the incisions. Then the surgeon will wrap a light bandage around your neck. He may also put in drainage tubes, which drain any fluid from the treated area.
What are the expected results?
It can take several weeks or even months for the swelling and bruising to go away completely and up to six months for the incision lines to fade. When the swelling and bruising subside, the results of a neck lift are visible. Your end result should not only make you look younger and more rested, but also help you feel more confident.
Sun protection and a healthy lifestyle will help prolong the results of your rejuvenated and younger appearance.
