Nose surgery, also as known as Rhinoplasty, is actually among the most difficult procedures of aesthetic plastic surgery. The success of the operation depends largely on the experience and dexterity of the plastic surgeon.
This aesthetic operation results in correction of the shape and size of the nose by cutting the nose, forming the nasal roof and giving the main shape to the nose. In addition to that, bones that collapse or shrink as a result of fracture can be straightened and enlarged. With this operation, deviations and breathing obstructions can be corrected.
During the first Rhinoplasty control, we look at the current formation of the nose and its proportion with the face. Procedures such as reducing or enlarging the size, thinning the tip, increasing or decreasing its height, nose-lip angle, and changing the nose-forehead angle should only be performed according to the problem.
The trend in modern aesthetic Rhinoplasty is to provide a balanced and refined appearance to every part of the nose, without disturbing the breathing through the nose. In addition, Rhinoplasty surgery should aim for a natural appearance that is not obvious or exaggerated. Rhinoplasty surgery age is 18 years and over. The reason is generally the completion of the development of bone tissues occurs at this age.
There are 2 Different Rhinoplasty Procedures:
Open rhinoplasty:
Open rhinoplasty method is preferred especially in cases where curvatures in the nasal cartilage tissue, deformities, severe bone shifts, presence of a belt and even the first operation failed. Functional problems in the nose are eliminated with the method that can clearly identify the structural problems of the nose and whose revision is performed in the most healthy way. In open rhinoplasty surgery, the symmetry of all cartilage tissue and bones can be reached more clearly by providing a direct field of view by cutting the nose in a reverse V shape.
Closed rhinoplasty:
In the nasal aesthetic method applied through the nostrils, no incision is made and therefore no stitch marks are found. The closed rhinoplasty technique, whose healing process is shorter than the open rhinoplasty method, causes little damage to the skin and soft tissue. It can be preferred in all kinds of problems such as nose belt, nose tip lifting, nose wings.
